Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Farah Brown was has always had the desire to build. She is currently a graduate student obtaining her masters in Architecture at Florida International University and lives by the motto "born to build, trained to design."
Farah always loved to design and saw herself as a future architect but shortly after starting school, she found her passion for woodworking and fabrication once getting a job as a Fabrication Technician at FIU's School of Architecture Fabrication Lab. She spent countless hours honing her craft in woodworking, not having anything but time and access to the facility. She has a keen interest in everything related to building, from materials to the machines to the ugly part of getting dirty.
As only being self taught, she sought employment with a building contractor at Hero & Rose working on homes and offices in Miami to gain more knowledge in the construction process. She spent a 1.5 years working in the mornings and afternoons with the contractors to come back to the shop at night and take what she learned developing her own skills.
In 2024, Farah opened FarahBuilds after designing a wooden Cigar Tray that gained popularity throughout her school and family. She has designed furniture, shelving, chairs, collectibles, and more in hopes of expanding her portfolio. She now works for Claro Architecture as an Architectural Designer working on interior renovations of various commercial projects in South Florida simultaneously to gain her architecture license soon.
